Umaluma – Dairy-Free Gelato | 235 E Pender St, Vancouver, Canada
Finally, I hosted a “Summer Ice Cream Party” at the amazing Umaluma – Dairy-Free Gelateria put on by the local meet-up group, Meatless Meetup. I host many events with this group so make sure to check out their site posted below!
We had the pleasure to enjoy a wide variety of gelatos at the First and Only Certified Organic Gelateria in Canada!
Best of all, it’s all plant-based… Amazing!!!
My Favorite Flavors
First, I tried the “Drunken Cherry” flavor, which reminded me so much of the Amarena Ice Cream I used to get in Italy when I was a kid. Shane ended up getting this flavor because it was so tasty!
Eventually, I ended up getting 2 different flavors…since I couldn’t decide. 😉
First, I got the “1001 Nights” flavor gelato which was a Persian treat known as Akbar Mashti– Saffron, Pistachios, Rose Water and Chunks of coconut cream. This mixture of flavors were crazy delicious, you will have to try it for yourself!
Next, I got a scoop of “Saffron Orange” that had a mix of saffron, and candied orange pieces…OMG…these flavors were like a firework in my mouth.
People had a hard time choosing flavors because they were all so good! Similarly, you can’t be disappointed because Umaluma lets you sample all their ice creams before you choose one. 😀
You won’t find these unique dairy-free gelato flavors in any other ice cream stores. One can really taste all the hard work the creators put into these flavors. That’s why I love stopping by at Umaluma in Vancouver, Canada to treat myself without any guilt!
Definitely a fabulous treat for every season, not just for the summer!
For more info please check Umaluma’s website:
**DISCLAIMER** Watch out for the “Bee Symbol” on certain flavors as some of their gelatos have honey in them. If you want to avoid honey I would suggest not getting these flavors.
