Ep 49 – Interview With Nomad Nutrition | Denis Mikhailov
In this episode, we talk to Denis Mikhailov the owner of Nomad Nutrition about his plant-based journey and how his company uses new innovated ways to create the most nutrient dense plant-based dehydrated foods.
About Nomad Nutrition
Born in the mountain ranges of British Columbia, Canada, Nomad Nutrition is the culmination of a lifelong pursuit of wild places and good food. Founder Denis Mikhailov, an avid climber, spent years looking for the best food to fuel his body and his adventures. Moving from vegetarianism to raw veganism, he eventually settled on a paleo-style diet, learning about the benefits of each lifestyle along the way. But on trips, with little time to prepare, Denis often ended up eating uninspiring pre-packaged camp meals that didn’t do much for his energy levels or his digestive system (we know you’ve been there). Then an event made Denis realize that things could be different. Deep in the Bugaboos, a chance encounter with a mountain guide and his homemade dehydrated food woke Denis up. He realized that it is possible to make trip food that tastes good and feels good. Thus, Denis brings life to Nomad Nutrition’s flagship trio of healthy, delicious and energy-packed meals. And this is just the beginning. We hope you’ll make Nomad Nutrition part of your next adventure!

Ep 44 – Interview With Nora’s Non-Dairy Ice Cream
In this episode, we talk to the owners of Nora’s Non-Dairy Ice Cream, Katherine and Tyler, about their plant-based journey and how they started one of the most tastiest Non-Dairy Ice Cream on the market!
About Nora’s Non-Dairy Ice Cream
Nora’s began in our home kitchen in Kitsilano, Vancouver, BC. After adopting a plant-based diet, we tried every non-dairy ice cream we could get our hands on, but none of them could replicate the amazing taste and texture profile of dairy ice cream.
We knew we couldn’t be the only people facing this issue, so we invested in a tiny home ice cream maker and started recipe testing. 8 months later and we finally had our perfect formulation, with house-made cashew milk as our magic ingredient. We couldn’t be happier or more excited to share Nora’s with you.
Let’s face it, vegan ice cream hasn’t always been great, but it’s 2018 and we’ve come a long way. At Nora’s, we use house-blended cashew cream to create a ridiculously creamy ice cream that’s as good as the stuff you remember from when you were a kid. With classic flavour profiles and short, recognizable all-natural ingredients, this is vegan ice cream that you can feel good about eating.

If you haven’t tried treats from this bakery yet you will want to head down to the Steveston Winter Farmers Market and get your hands on some of the best plant-based treats around while they still last!
About Cookie Crumbles Vegan Bakery
Hi my name is Tina and our family had been vegetarian for several years before we discovered our infant son was intolerant to dairy and eggs. That effectively made us a vegan family and it opened our eyes to the ethical considerations behind veganism and now we cannot turn back.
To satisfy my sweet tooth I started baking and experimenting with my own recipes. I was very happy with the results and began to offer my baked goods to friends and family. And even those that aren’t vegan or vegetarian finished every crumb. I hope you’ll find my baked goodies equally delicious.
